Humbled

Sometimes fictional characters try to earn favor by saying "I'm just a humbleman in search of...," when it is obvious they are the opposite. Truly humble people keep quiet about the good things they do and about their humble,or poor and simple, backgrounds. In the Bible, Jesus is described as humble because he was born in a stable, served the poor, and sacrificed himself without bragging about it — and he gave all the credit to God.
Jesus is the perfect example of humility.

Humility is perfect quietness of heart. It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel nothing done against me. It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised. It is to have a blessed home in the Lord, where I can go in and shut the door, and kneel to my Father in secret, and am at peace as in a deep sea of calmness.

Assuming

Making assumptions simply means believing things are a certain way with little or no evidence that shows you are correct, and you can see at once how this can lead to terrible trouble.
The true problem with making assumptions, is the belief that they are the truth.
Some have the tenancy to only see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear instead of perceiving things the way they are.
Its important not to assume you know why someone does something without finding out why. It can be too easy to make a wrong assumption. A person can literally drive themselves insane trying to figure out other people’s motives. The problem with assuming is that if you assume wrong, you can create all kinds of unnecessary hurt and pain for both of you resulting in nothing but issues.
Why put yourself through all the drama associated with assuming the worst out of people? It does nothing but waste mental cycles and energy that could be used for something much more positive and productive.
  It always pays to know.
Communication is the key to knowing.

Faith and farming

Farmers often make the best ministers because they don't expect everything in one day.
They live next to God's creation and are dependent on the Lord. Farmers have a lot of patience and faith in the long process of waiting for the plants to grow or the animals to produce. They just have to trust the Lord and not worry about it.
God does the biggest part of the job: He sends the sun and rain and makes the crops grow, and He's the one who causes the animals to produce.
If there's any picture of a quiet type of personality, it's the farmer. City folks often make fun of farmers, but if the farmers didn't take it slow, they'd go crazy like many of the city people! The farmer's motto is "Go slow." The farmer is a perfect example of faith and patience. We should take a lesson from the farmer.
Why is it that so few people want to live on a farm these days? --Because it is hard work everyday and takes too much dependence on God. They have to leave so much up to the Lord. In many countries, people are moving off the farms in droves. God's too much in control. It's too quiet--"too dead, no action," they say. But if they took time to really look around and listen-to watch the animals, the trees and the storms, and to listen to the thunder--they'd see and hear a lot.

Just another weekend...

The winter storm blows in and just as we are getting snug as a bug, with our bellies full from dinner, all the ice was just too much to handle. - SNAP CRACK - Out goes the power, and down goes one of our powerlines to lay down the length of our driveway from the barn to the road ( which is about 1/8 of a mile :) making it impassable - unless you have 4WD and can venture into the field with 5 inches of snow and ice.
We all decide to take this opportunity to go play in the snow and build a snowman...
Amazingly - it only took DP&L 1/2 an hour to fix
After - it took them 20 Hours to Show Up! lol
The house roars back to life just in time to fix dinner on Saturday and play catch-up on laundry, dishes, and cleaning which has to be done then - because Sunday is a wrestling meet at Kings High School ( which borders on Kings Island property ) and after that we are going straight to a friend's house to watch the Super Bowl. *whew*
Curtis did fantastic at his wrestling meet and got 2nd place! Carmen and her "bestfriendinthewholeworld" Eva showed off their dance skills during halftime.
....plans for this week - so far -
***work
***look into dance schools
***prepare for the next winter storm coming Tue/Wed - lol

For those who have fallen........
........we will never forget.
Today that Unconditional Pride swells in the heart of every True American, as well as the sorrow of so many lost.
God bless our troops -
for they work everyday to ensure the freedom that we so often take for granted.
and God Bless the Firefighters and Police Officers -
for they work everyday to ensure our safety usually at the expense of their own.
Always Remember.........9-11
Close your eyes... And go back... Before the Internet or the AIM Before semi automatics and weed Before playstation2 or X-bOX Before the 5 hours of homework you put off every night... Way back...I'm talkin' bout hide and go seek at dusk. Red light, Green light. Playing kickball & dodgeball until your porch light came on. Mother May I? Red Rover four square Hula Hoops Running through the sprinkler Happy Meals Getting the privelage to sit in the front seat of the car Wait...Watchin' Saturday Morning cartoons Like Hey Arnold and Doug Or what about legends of the hidden temple, global guts, double dare, and who, ARE YOU AFFRAID OF THE DARK! Who could forget Snick Or the teenage mutant ninja turtles, and Power Rangers, Christmas morning... Your first day of school Bedtime Prayers and Goodnight Kisses Climbing trees Getting an ice cream off the ice cream truck A million mosquito bites and sticky fingers Jumpin' down the steps Jumpin' on the bed Pillow fights Runnin' till you were out of breath Laughing so hard that your stomach hurt and you almost peed your pants Being tired from playin' all day Your first crush... Rainy days at school meant playing "Heads up 7-Up" in the classroom Remember that? I'm not finished yet... Kool-Aid was the drink of the summer Giving your friends a ride on your handlebars or spokes Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school Class Field Trips When nearly everyone's mom was at home when the kids got there. When getting high was swinging on the swingset When $5 seemed like a million, and another dollar a Miracle. When your parents took you to McDonalds and you were so cool. When Toys r Us overuled the "mall" I want to go back to the time when... Decisions were made by going "eeny-meeny-miney-moe" Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming, "do over!" "Race issue" meant arguing about who ran the fastest. Money issues were handled by whoever was the banker in "monopoly" Catching fireflies could happily occupy an entire evening It wasn't odd to have two or three "best" friends. Being old, referred to anyone over 20. The worst thing you could catch from the opposite sex was cooties. Nobody was prettier than Mom Nobody was cooler than Dad Scrapes and bruises were kissed and made better It was a big deal to finally be tall enough to ride the "big people" rides at the amusement park. Abilities were discovered because of a "double-dog-dare" Spinning around, getting dizzy and falling down was cause for giggles. If you can remember most or all of these, then you have LIVED!!!Just thought we could all use a break from our grown-up life.... :)
